You will speak badly for a while, on purpose
Most adults who come to me have studied Spanish before. Evening classes, an app, a term at school decades ago. They usually know more than they can use, and that gap is where the frustration sits.
So we do not begin with grammar. We begin by talking, badly, until talking badly stops being frightening. I note the mistakes while you speak and we go through them at the end, because stopping someone mid-sentence to correct a verb ending mostly teaches them to stop speaking.
The grammar arrives afterwards, attached to something you have already tried to say. It sticks far better that way than it does from a table in a book.

Adult lessons cost £22 an hour
Pairs work well for couples learning together at fifteen pounds each.

Frequently asked
I am a complete beginner. Will I be lost?
No. Beginners start in English and move gradually. By the second or third lesson we will be doing short exchanges in Spanish, built entirely around what you already know rather than what a textbook assumes.
I am not good at languages. Is there any point?
Almost everyone who says this was taught badly at school in a class of thirty, at a pace set by someone else. One to one removes both of those problems. Spanish is also one of the more forgiving languages for English speakers to start with.
How often should I have lessons?
Weekly works best. Fortnightly is workable if you do something small in between. Monthly tends not to build momentum, though it is fine for maintaining what you already have.
Do I need to do homework?
Only if you want to move quickly. Plenty of adults come purely for the hour of conversation, and that is a perfectly reasonable way to use the time.
Spain or Latin America?
My Spanish is peninsular, from the year in Valencia, and I can explain the main differences in vocabulary and pronunciation if you are heading to Latin America. Neither will leave you unable to be understood.
